audit process consulting

As a firm doing business in today’s competitive marketplace, we know you’re focused on improving the quality and profitability of your auditing engagements. Since 1995, AuditWatch has been working with the nation’s top accounting firms to do just that.

How Does It Work?
AuditWatch will take a close look at your firm’s existing audit practices and then develop and implement a plan for improving both the effectiveness and efficiency of your engagements. Our plans are firmly grounded in meeting current industry and standard best practices and technical requirements.

In fact, we find that most firms rely too heavily on checklists, standard audit programs and old work papers. AuditWatch will show you how to improve critical areas such as analytical procedures, risk assessment, computer-assisted audit techniques, sampling and internal control testing.

Customized Seminar
AuditWatch begins our Audit Process Improvement Program by reviewing your firms completed engagements and interviewing your firm’s key audit professionals. Armed with this knowledge, we design a customized two-day seminar for your entire audit department introducing those core principles and concepts needed to produce major gains in audit quality and efficiency.

Reengineering Sessions
In the days following the seminar, AuditWatch will hold “reengineering sessions” for your employees. The result of this day-long session is the development of an engagement approach dedicated toward delivering top-quality service in significantly fewer hours than the prior year.

Implementation Plan
The goal of our program is to enable permanent, positive change in your audit practice. It’s been our experience that an implementation plan greatly affects your ability to achieve sustainable change. Therefore, we are also able to work with your firm to develop ways to monitor results, ensure accountability and maintain commitment to the program.

One Year Follow-Up
Knowing it can be difficult to maintain momentum, we return to your firm one year after the original training to assess progress. During our follow-up visit, we review work papers, interview staff and conduct additional training.

Although the program officially concludes at this point, most of our clients view the one year follow-up as the transition to a new phase in their on-going relationship with AuditWatch by making a commitment to continuous improvement through participation in our exclusive “Audit Physical”.
