AuditWatch offers two courses on the use of data extraction.

I. Mastering the Basics of Data Extraction Software
Two Days | All Levels of Experience | 16 CPE Credit Hours
(8 Auditing, 8 Specialized Knowledge and Application) | Basic

This computer course is for new users of data extraction software. Participants learn to:

• Master the key commands of IDEA or ACL software


• Identify numerous applications and abilities of the software


• Obtain basic data file formats from clients


• Interpret, document and communicate information contained in data extraction reports

Tuition for in-house sessions is $2,499 per day (plus $19 Power Play material fee and instructor's out-of-pocket expenses) with up to 12 participants. $125 for each additional particpant (up to 16). Each participant must bring a computer with the current version of IDEA or ACL already loaded and a license key, if applicable.

II. Spotting Opportunities to Use Data Extraction Software
Half Day | All Levels of Experience | 4 CPE Credit Hours (Auditing) | Overview

Ideal for firms that sign up for our data extraction outsourcing services, this half-day course is for users or non-users of data extraction software. This is not a computer-based class. Participants learn to:

• Assess the cost-benefit of using data extraction software on specific engagements


• Identify basic and creative uses of the software (including the latest innovative applications to help comply emerging audit standards)


• Interpret, document and communicate results to clients


• Identify ways to use data extraction software as a marketing tool to prospective clients

Tuition for in-house sessions is $2,499 per seminar with up to 25 participants. $125 for each additional participant (up to 30 participants).
